| On November 1st 2007 The Alburg Sno Springers signed a 5 year license with ANR. Forest and Parks for use of the Alburgh Dunes State Park. There were many interests involved and an agreement that satisfied all was drawn up. This license describes a very exacting route through the park. Any deviation from the prescribed route will be cause for termination of the license. As with ALL state owned propertied the speed limit through the park is 35MPH. A map of the Alburg Dunes State Park and the route through the park is shown here. Please be courteous to this and ALL landowner's stay on the trail and do not litter! |
Alburg Sno Springers The Alburg Sno Springers, One of Grand Isle County's VAST Snowmobile clubs, might be one of the smallest Clubs in VAST but it has been around for over 40 years and still going strong. The club originated around 1968 with five to ten local residents. The original Club House was the Community House in Alburg Springs, Some of the original members were Ed and Nancy Christopher, Steve and Micky Deyo, Myric and Theresa Bougeois and Ernest Hutchins. Sometime around 1978 "Mom and Dad VAST" , Bill and Mitzi Oakes, became members and Bill became Grand Isle Director and still is our Director today. We have come from no groomed trails to around 40 miles (round trip) of well groomed and managed trails going from the north end of town to the southern tip. We maintain the Alburgh Recreational Rail Trail from East Alburg to Alburg Village which runs through State and town owned land. We Might be small and have no mountains to climb but we feel that we have given the local people and out of town folks that happen to give our trails a shot, a nice relaxing ride. |

| This year VAST realized the need to do more for our land owners. VAST developed the landowner appreciation value book. In it are various discount coupons from across the state. We are proud to have as sponsors in this area Alburg Golf links, B.P. Auto Works, North Hero House, On The Run Mobil Mart, and Scoot air. at the Northern Lights Airport in S. Alburgh. |
